On Air Now
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM

For the first time since 2008, postseason baseball is returning to Hawks Field at Haymarket Park in Lincoln. Nebraska baseball is hosting a regional. The Cornhuskers hosted regionals in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2008 in Lincoln, advancing through to Super Regionals three times, qualifying for the Men’s College World Series in 2001, 2002 and 2005. In the last regional in Lincoln, UC-Irvine defeated Oral Roberts in the championship final, with Nebraska winning one game in the super regional.

This year’s Huskers finished second in the Big Ten with a 23-7 conference record while going 42-15 overall. Nebraska was nearly unbeatable at home this year, winning 23 of 24 games at home this season.

From the Big Ten, Oregon and UCLA were both selected as regional hosts. Georgia, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Texas, North Carolina, Texas A&M, Florida, Southern Miss, Kansas, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Florida State and Alabama were all picked as the other 13 regional hosts. The seeding and rest of the bracket, including the three other teams coming to the Lincoln Regional, will be announced during the NCAA Baseball selection show Monday at 11 a.m. on Monday on ESPN2. All Nebraska’s NCAA Tournament games will be broadcast on KLIN.
