Lincoln’s Capital Humane Society (CHS) is offering discounted rates of 50 percent for puppies and dogs aged at least five months this Halloween season. The promotional event, called “Howl-O-Ween,” will take place at the Pieloch Pet Adoption Center Tuesday, Oct. 11, to Friday, Oct. 14 from 11:30 AM to 7 PM and on Saturday, Oct. 15, and Sunday, Oct. 16 from noon to 5 PM. The Pieloch Pet Adoption Center can be found at 6500 70th St.
Matt Madcharo of CHS spoke with KLIN News and says that typically, a two-year-old dog costs about $175 in adoption fees alone. And while potential adopters may still need to pay full price for license and rabies fees, residents will still experience major savings this week.
CHS has seen a 21-percent uptick in dog intake. With so many dogs in their care, CHS is encouraging prospective pet owners to take advantage of this reduced rate in adoption fees this week.
