LPD officers took Daniel T. Burton into custody early Friday morning following reports of a man causing a disturbance with a knife. Police were responding to a call made at an address near 70th and Morrill when they were updated that the man had left the scene. Officers were soon informed that a man was harassing customers at Casey’s convenience store on 70th and Adams.
When police arrived at Casey’s, they found Burton with a knife in its sheath on his belt. The officers confiscated the knife and placed Burton in their cruiser so they could investigate the scene. Burton managed to escape the cruiser and fled back into the store as police tried to put him in handcuffs. Burton was arrested afterward without any further incident and is being charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Disturbing the Peace.
