Update: Lincoln Police report that the 6th occupant of the vehicle in the early Sunday morning crash near 57th & Randolph has died. Police confirmed, in a news release, the woman died this morning at a local hospital.

5 people were killed and 1 other person is in critical condition following an early Sunday morning traffic accident in East Lincoln. LPD released the following information:
Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident
On Sunday, October 2, 2022, at approximately 2:16 AM Lincoln Police Officers were detailed to the 5600 Block of Randolph Street on a report of an accident. Upon arrival officers observed that an eastbound vehicle, believed to be a black Honda Accord, had struck a tree.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue personnel were able to extricate and transport one occupant of the vehicle to the hospital in critical condition. The remaining five occupants were pronounced deceased at the scene. We would like to extend our condolences to their families.
