A trailer was stolen from Borland Wildlife Solutions on Sunday, Sept. 25. The trailer and its contents, which included important items for day-to-day operation such as PPE, hoses, and a vacuum, were valued at $15,000. The trailer also contained 500 to 700 pounds of bat guano, which the company had removed from a house not long before.
“I think they probably were hoping it was full of tools and things they could pawn and scrap,” says Steve Borland, owner of Borland Wildlife Solutions.
Borland immediately filed a police report, and the trailer was recovered near 54th and Vine on Sept. 28. “Along with the vacuum and hand tools and things like that that they did take,” says Borland, “there was also two or three gigantic bags of insulation and guano that were gone. I have no idea what they did with them.”
Borland tells KLIN News that no suspects have been identified yet.
