The Lincoln Police Department has wrapped up it’s underage drinking enforcement project that took place during the first three Husker home football games.
Captain Todd Kocian says extra officers were on patrol around Memorial Stadium cracking down on binge drinking and other dangerous behaviors. “There were 16 citations for MIP, 24 for consuming in public and throughout the course of the first three games they made a total of 2,231 citizen contacts.”
Police also issued 104 parking citations and 30 vehicles were towed. Funding for the increased enforcement was provided by Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office.
