It was a week ago that Nebraska State Senator Suzanne Geist announced her bid for Lincoln mayor. The Republican businesswoman is the only candidate thus far to announce her candidacy.
Current Democratic Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird has been on the job since 2019. On LNK Today with Jack and Friends Wednesday morning Gaylor Baird wasn’t ready to make any re-election announcement.
“Right now I’m really focused on the job I’ve been elected to do for our community, and that’s growing a more successful, secure and sure future.” Gaylor Baird says any formal announcement about her future political plans will be made later this fall.
