Lincoln Man Arrested For Road Rage Incident Near Raymond

By Tom Stanton Sep 15, 2022 | 1:07 PM

A Lincoln man is accused of firing a pepper ball gun at a pickup during a road rage incident near Raymond late Wednesday morning. Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says a van driver was tailgating the pickup on Highway 79 near West Branched Oak Road around 11:30 a.m.

“The van was following the pickup pretty closely, so the pickup slowed down and that upset the van driver,” Wagner says.  “Hand gestures were exchanged and then the van went past the pickup and took a shot.”

Wagner says the driver, 55 year old Alan Moore, fired the gun out the passengers side window at the pickup.  The victim called police and continued to follow Moore, who ended up driving by Raymond Central High School.  Because of the reported gunfire, the school was placed under lockdown.

Moore was eventually stopped near Highway 79 and Raymond Road.   Deputies found a pepper ball gun inside the van with one empty chamber.  Moore was arrested for terroristic threats.
