A 14 year old is facing gun charges after LPD Gang Unit investigators spotted a vehicle that had been involved in a previous shooting pull into a lot in the 2000 block of north 28th Street around 3:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Sergeant Chris Vollmer says when they made contact with the occupants there was a strong odor of marijuana detected. Officers removed the 14 year old boy, a 15 year old girl and two 19 year old women from the vehicle.
“A Glock 9mm handgun was located on the seat were the 14 year old male had been seated,” Vollmer says. “Further inspection of the Glock found it was loaded and the serial numbers had been defaced.”
The teen was referred and lodged at the Youth Assessment Center for possession of a defaced firearm, carrying a
concealed weapon and possession of marijuana.
