Lincoln Police were called to a home at 18th and M Street around 8:30 Thursday morning to investigate a sexual assault.

Police talked with a 21 year old woman who said she had taken out the trash and saw a man identified as 44 year old Eduardo Flores digging through the dumpster. The woman returned to her apartment but a short time later there was a knock on her door. Flores asked the woman if he could come inside and change clothes. Once inside, Flores started making sexual comments so the victim started recording the conversation. The woman said Flores forcibly sexually assaulted her and then left.

Using the recorded audio and the physical description provided by the victim, LPD officers flooded the area looking for Flores. At 12:55 p.m., investigators and uniformed officers located Flores near South 25th and D Street. They identified themselves as LPD officers and Flores tried to run. Investigators gave chase and took Flores into custody but he continued to struggle to get away He was eventually taken into custody.

Flores was booked for 1st degree sexual assault, a felony and for failure to comply with the lawful order of a police officer, a misdemeanor.
