The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 22 year registered sex offender that they believe sexually abused underaged girls.  Sheriff Terry Wagner says Chance Johnson has been arrested on a variety of charges in the latest investigation that began in late August.

“Three juvenile females had met Johnson through social media and, as time passed,  meetings took place between Johnson and these underage girls,” Wagner says.

Wagner says the girls ended up being sexually assaulted.  Johnson was arrested on Tuesday following an interview.  He was booked for first degree sexual assault of a child, child abuse, electronic child enticement  and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Wagner says in June of 2021 Johnson was convicted of false imprisonment, which was amended down from 1st degree sexual assault.  That required him to register as a sex offender.  Wagner says he was sentenced to 365 days in jail on that conviction.

Wagner says they believe there are other young girls who may have been victims. “We’re asking parents to check with their daughters to make sure they haven’t been victimized by Johnson.
