A Lincoln Police officer suffered minor injuries after his marked cruiser crossed the center line around 3:00 this morning and sideswiped a pickup on NW 48th between Benton and Seward Streets.
“The officer indicated he was tired and looking for a place to park when the collision occurred,” says LPD Captain Todd Kocian. “Damage to the cruiser estimated at $20,000, damage to the Toyota Tundra is estimated at $18,000.”
Kocian says the officer suffered minor abrasions from the airbag. The other driver complained of neck pain and neither required medical attention. He says they have a Safety Committee that meets to review every crash involving an LPD officer. The committee will determine any disciplinary actions.
