Lincoln Police are trying to put the pieces together as they investigate two murders in the city this week.  55 year old William Wright was arrested Wednesday night for the stabbing death of 61 year old Ronald George in a field near 3rd and P Street.

Police Chief Teresa Ewins says on Thursday they were called to a motel at NW 12th Street and West Bond where the body of another man was found.  They are trying to determine the cause of death, but believe he was also murdered.  LPD believes he was killed first, but his body wasn’t found  until after George was found dead early Wednesday morning.

Police says Wright had been with that man before he was killed, but it’s not known if  Wright is responsible for his death. An autopsy was conducted Thursday afternoon and results are pending.

Ewins says their investigators have worked 72 hours straight on this case. “I want to thank them for their ongoing effort and dedication which led to the apprehension of Mr. Wright within 72 hours of initial police response.”
