A 25 year old Lincoln man was scammed out of hundreds of dollars by someone pretending to be a law enforcement official. Sergeant Chris Vollmer says the man got a call from someone claiming to be a Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputy.
“The caller said he had an active arrest warrant for missing jury duty but could settle the matter by paying $1,800. Vollmer says the victim used a cash app to send $830 to a number provided by the caller.
Vollmer says the victim sought the advice of a family member, who let him know he was being scammed.
