Lincoln Police say two teenage boys are in custody in connection with the theft of 17 laptops from the new Northwest High School. Sergeant Chris Vollmer say a 17 and 16 year old have been referred for burglary.
All 17 Macbook laptops were found August 7 at NW 38th and West Webster. LPD and LFR were initially called to the area for a grass fire. Police found an abandoned vehicle parked nearby with the doors open.
Officers found several laptop computers with labels from Lincoln Public Schools on them inside the vehicle. Other laptops were found wrapped in a towel underneath a bush.
LPD says all the stolen property has been recovered and returned to Lincoln Public Schools.
