Two people from Iowa have been arrested in connection with the theft of several items from a residence west of Roca.  A flatbed utility trailer, scaffolding and building materials were among the items taken from a locked garage and outbuilding and had a value of more than $21,000.

Lancaster County Sheriff’s Captain Tommy Trotter says the owner saw a couple of the items for sale on Facebook Marketplace and gave them a call.  “So our deputies conducted kind of a sting operation where they made contact with the seller and we were able to recover the flatbed trailer and the scaffolding.”

The value of the recovered items is more than $13,000. Deputies are still looking for a second trailer that was stolen.  Kevin Christina of Carter Lake, Iowa and Heidi Johnson of Marne, Iowa were booked for theft by receiving.

Anyone with information about this equipment is encouraged to call LSO at (402) 441-6500 or Crime Stoppers at (402) 475-3600.
