Two Lincoln men are facing multiple charges after an incident on Thursday evening, July 28th near 56th and I-80.
At a news conference Monday, Chief Theresa Ewins says Lincoln Police were contacted by Gage County Sheriff’s Office around 8:30 Friday morning. Deputies had located a bound, injured man walking on the side of a road. The 26 year old victim said he was taken to an unknown location in Gage County. After the assault, he was taken to an area he was unfamiliar with and tied to a tree. He was eventually able to free himself and left the area on foot until he was located by a Gage County Sheriff’s deputy. He was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries.
A second victim, a female, was also assaulted, sexually assaulted, and kidnapped. No further information was released about the second victim.
At 3 p.m. on Friday, LPD officers located 26 year old Austin L. Widhalm at his home in Lincoln. He was arrested without incident and booked for 1st degree assault, 1st degree sexual assault, use of weapon to commit a felony and false imprisonment.
At 2 p.m. Monday, August 1st, 30 year old Tanner Danielson was arrested in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was booked for 1st degree assault, 1st degree sexual assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, and false imprisonment.
