Body Armor, Guns Stolen From LSO Vehicle

By Tom Stanton Jul 21, 2022 | 10:02 AM

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s office is investigating a theft of equipment from one of their pickup trucks.  Sheriff Terry Wagner says On July 19 between 4:30 P.M. and 10:30 P.M. a Chevrolet pickup owned by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office was left unattended in a parking lot in the 600 block of N. 48th street.

Someone got into the vehicle and stole a blue canvas duffle bag containing Safe Line Defense flexible body armor.  The sheriff says it has pouches that contained two loaded Smith and Wesson extended pistol magazines; one 23 round and one 17 round, 40 rounds of 9mm ammunition and an Atlantic Signal portable radio microphone.

The total loss is about $2400. The sheriff says there were no signs of forced entry, and there are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information about this equipment is encouraged to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 402 441 6500 or CrimeStoppers at 402 475 3600.

The photos sent by the sheriff’s department are similar items to those that were stolen. They say there are no law enforcement identifiers on the vest.
