Lincoln Police were called to LAX Auto at 400 W Cornhusker on June 7th at 9:47 a.m. to investigate a burglary.
Officers found an overhead door damaged. Officers spoke with the manager and reviewed security footage and it showed an unknown man arriving in a 2007 Ford F250 pickup at 4:46 a.m. That man backed the truck into the door. That raised it enough for the man to enter the business.
The man grabbed the keys to a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500 parked in the LAX lot. The man leaves and moves the F250 out of the doorway and parks it in a nearby lot. The man got into the Chevy and left the area.
The F250 had been reported stolen from the Anderson Ford lot at 2500 Wildcat Drive on June 6th.
The Chevy Silverado was recovered on July 13th in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Police there reported the truck had obviously been damaged by gunfire.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man in security video.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Lincoln Crime Stoppers at 402-476-3600 or lincolncrimestoppers.com.
