The Lincoln Police Department will be participating in a National Speeding Prevention High-Visibility Enforcement Mobilization Project from
July 20 to August 14th to reduce speeding related fatalities and promote vehicle safety.
According to NHTSA in 2020, speed was the contributing factor in 29% of the fatal crashes nationwide. In 2020 and 2021, speed
was the contributing factor in 38% of the fatal crashes in Lincoln.
The Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office is providing overtime funding for increased enforcement during this Stop Speeding Before It Stops You enforcement detail.
