Lincoln Police were called to 35th and Madison Avenue around 4:35 p.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a suspicious person. The caller said the person had parked a vehicle and was looking into other vehicles parked in the area.
Police found the individual’s vehicle, a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu. It had been reported stolen out of Cuming County on May 8th.
Officers then located 28 year old Dylan Alfredson in the parking lot of Baldwin Automotive on North 35th Street. As officers approached, Alfredson ran but was soon located and taken into custody at 33rd and Madison. Alfredson had a backpack and inside was a catalytic converter, a Sawzall and several blades. He also had the keys to the stolen vehicle.
Officers also found a Jeep Liberty in the parking lot of Baldwin Automotive with a partially cut catalytic converter.
Alfredson was booked for theft by receiving, possession of burglary tool, attempted theft and obstruction of a police officer.
