Lincoln Police are investigating car arsons. Officers were called to the 7300 block of Candletree Lane on a report of a car fire around 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 16th. Two vehicles, a 2006 Hyundai Tucson and a 2017 Chevy Equinox were destroyed.
An LFR fire inspector responded and determined the cause was likely papers set on fire in the cabin of one of the vehicles. That fire spread to the other vehicle. It is not known which vehicle was set on fire but a window was broken to gain access.
On July 12th, LPD and LFR were called to a vehicle fire the 800 block of Roanoke Court. It was determined that a textbook had been lit on fire and put in the rear passenger floorboard. It is not known if the two cases are related.
