The Lancaster Event Center Fairgrounds is looking for 200 paid or unpaid volunteers to fill the remaining 6-hour shifts for the 2022 Lancaster County Super Fair from Thursday July 28 to Saturday August 6.
They are in need of admission gate ticket takers, parking lot attendants, and Figure 8 Races scorers.
Applicants need to be 16 years of age or older. They hope to have the applications by July 20th. Virtual and in-person training starts on July 21st. The pay is $12 an hour. Unpaid volunteers are also welcome.
Marketing Manager Megan Schafersman tells KLIN News, “If you are a non-profit group or organization such as a service club, youth group, sports team, service club, high school or college, you can use this as a fundraiser.”
Local groups who designate a group coordinator and fill 20 or more shifts can also earn $500 per 20 shifts filled in LEC Fairgrounds ‘rental event bucks’. These ‘bucks’ can be used on space rental and other services including food & beverage for a non-profit organization event held at the LEC fairgrounds such as a fundraiser, recognition banquet or educational event.
Unpaid volunteers can receive certification of volunteer hours for school, organization, or other needs.
Schafersman says all shifts are 6 hours long. Those who work at least four hours will receive a Super Fair T-Shirt, unlimited fountain drinks, snacks and one meal.
