Lancaster County Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle at 2:04 a.m. Wednesday on Highway 6 and North 98th street for having no license plate and for having a faulty tail light.
Sheriff Terry Wagner says the driver, 39 year old Gary Payton of Omaha had a suspended driver’s license and there was an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle.
That led to a search of a vehicle where a large baggie containing a crystal- like substance was found inside a purse of a female passenger.
Sheriff Wagner says, “The total weight was 7.25 ounces of methamphetamine. That is about 203 grams and I think a normal usage is a quarter of a gram. That is a lot of meth.”
Payton and 39 year old Angelica Agena of Lincoln were booked for possession with intent to deliver.
