Lincoln Police were called to Midwest Towing at 400 West P Street around 1:00 Monday morning after someone reported a man throwing tools out of tow truck.
Captain Todd Kocian says the caller then reported the man was driving a tow truck through the parking lot. When officers arrived they contacted the 51 year old man near the north side of the parking lot.
“The male yelled various profanities at the officers, exposed his genitalia and retreated into a large field. Officers searched the field eventually locating 51-year-old Donald Covington, who was taken into custody,” Kocian says.
Police discovered that Covington entered the business after breaking several windows and found keys to several vehicles and began driving around the parking lot causing damage.
Covington was arrested for Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Unauthorized Use of a Propelled Vehicle, Obstructing a Police Officer, and Public Indecency. Damage to the vehicles and business is estimated at $28,000.
