A 17 year old is facing charges after Lincoln Police say he was involved in a hit and run crash near 6th and West S Street around 6:30 Monday morning.
“Arriving officers located a red GMC Envoy, valued at $2,000, unoccupied with heavy front end damage and an open liquor bottle on the passenger floorboard,” says LPD Sergeant Chris Vollmer.
He says the vehicle struck two parked cars and witnesses saw the driver run from the scene. Officers checked the area and found a teenager matching the description from witnesses just south of Capitol Beach.
Vollmer says the teenager was intoxicated and taken into custody. He was taken to the Youth Assessment Center and referred for theft by receiving, minor in possession and providing false information.
