With the help of a GPS tracker, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office recovered a stolen vehicle.
A 19 year old man parked his vehicle at 12500 Yankee Hill Road Wednesday morning and left the window down and the keys inside. Sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., the vehicle was taken.
The victim had a tracker on the keys and was able to pin it at 25th and R Street. Lancaster County deputies located the vehicle near 23rd and U Street and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, 62 year old Ronald Noyd was taken into custody for theft by receiving and for driving with a suspended license.
Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says, “Please, lock your car. Don’t leave your keys in there and quit leaving property of value in there, especially in view. We have been working a lot (of auto thefts) and I know the city has too. I know that doesn’t mean that people have the right to go in and steal your stuff but there are a lot of individuals just going around looking for crimes of opportunity.”
