Lincoln Police were called to the 7100 block of Shamrock Road on a report of a stolen 1999 Ford Ranger pickup around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14th. The owner reported the pickup had been taken during the overnight hours.
At 1:13 Wednesday morning, an officer spotted the stolen pickup heading northbound on 27th and O. The officer followed the pickup and saw it park at 31st and Holdrege. Two male occupants got out and ran. They disappeared into the neighborhood.
Police say the suspects left the key in the ignition. The pickup, valued at $16,000, was returned to the owner and it was not damaged.
The investigation continues.
