A man familiar to local law enforcement was arrested again early Tuesday morning. Lincoln Police were called to Le Auto Center at 2301 Fairfield around 6:00 a.m. on a report of a man possibly cutting a catalytic converter off a vehicle.
When officers arrived they found 32-year-old Sergey Stoyan dressed in all dark clothing under a 2008 Honda Prius. Captain Todd Kocian says as officers approached Stoyan grabbed a backpack and fled on foot ignoring officer’s commands to stop. Kocian says Stoyan was digging around his waist band area and a taser was deployed.
Stoyan was then taken into custody without incident. Officers ultimately located narcotics paraphernalia, a sawsall cutting tool, various other tools and cutting blades in his possession. Damage to the Prius was estimated at $300.
Stoyan was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of burglars tools, criminal mischief, obstructing a police officer and resisting arrest. He was also arrested by Lincoln Police in April for a catalytic theft converter and last week by Lancaster County deputies after they found him at the demolition site of Shakers in Waverly.
