LPD officers were called to the 7300 block of North 18th Street on Sunday, June 4th to investigate a burglary.
The residents reported they accidentally left their garage door open Saturday night. On Sunday morning, he discovered that both vehicles parked inside had been rummaged through. Two laptop computers valued at $3,200 were missing.
LPD reminds residents to double check and make sure that garage doors are closed and locked before going to bed at night. In the warmer months, it is easy to forget as people are more active and going in and out throughout the day.
There has been a 111% increase in thefts from garages so far this year compared to the 5 year average.
