That National Weather Service reports the possibility of severe weather this afternoon and evening from North Central and Northeastern Nebraska into Southeast Nebraska.  NWS Lead Meteorologist Becky Kern tells KLIN News the possibility exists for baseball sized hail and wind gusts 60-75 mph are possible as the line of storms moves across the area.

Kern also said there is a chance of a tornado with these storms.  While rainfall could be heavy at times flooding is not expected.

There is a chance severe weather could return to the area on Thursday.

Today and Tonight

Strong to severe thunderstorms appear likely this afternoon and evening, mainly south of a Norfolk to Onawa Iowa line. Severe weather is most probable from 4 PM to 11 PM with hail up to baseball size and damaging winds of 60 to 75 mph being the primary hazards. A tornado or two is also possible.
