The Lincoln Police Department has wrapped up it’s annual ‘End of School’ traffic enforcement project.  It was conducted May 2 through May 25 with specific emphasis placed on traffic enforcement in and around the various school zones throughout the city.

The project, funded through a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation-Highway Safety Office, resulted in 291 total violations, warnings and arrests.

Among them were 107 speeding citations and 13 warnings.  There were 26 seatbelt violations and eight warnings.  There were 45 citations for no valid registration and four narcotics citations were issued.  Officers also issued 16 citations for no insurance.
