A Lincoln man called 911 Monday morning to report his roommate was acting strangely and lighting items on fire in their apartment in the 1500 block of S 19th Street.
“Arriving officers located Justin Armstrong with a handheld torch,” says Sergeant Chris Vollmer. He says several items in the apartment were damaged by fire, including doors, electrical fixtures and a chair. Total damage was estimated at $2,000.
Vollmer says Armstrong was taken into custody and officers believed he was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was evaluated at an area hospital and then booked for Arson and Possession of Controlled Substance.
