The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Lancaster and Seward counties until 9:00 Thursday night.
A line of severe thunderstorms is expected to move east across the area this afternoon and evening. The primary hazard as storms begin will be large hail, but will transition to damaging winds.
Hot and humid weather is expected today with heat index values in the mid to upper 90s.
Friday through Sunday
Thunderstorms could linger into Friday in far southeast NE and far southwest IA. Additional thunderstorms will be possible Saturday night into Sunday, though they are not expected to be severe.
