A 35 year old Lincoln man who was shot and wounded over the weekend by a Beatrice Police officer has died.
The shooting happened late Saturday night following a high speed chase in Gage County. Beatrice Police Chief Bruce Lang says the driver, Bradley Allen fled the vehicle on foot. He later was confronted by a Beatrice Police officer, who said the Allen yelled that he had a gun.
The officer says Allen was seen reaching into his waistband. The officer fired several shots, hitting Allen several times. He was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. Allen was pronounced dead just before 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3rd
The investigation later revealed that Allen was not armed.
