Election Commissioner Dave Shively tells KLIN News it is also time to  return those early ballots that were requested by mail.   He says, “It does take about two to three days for mail to have a turn-around in the county. If they are out of the state, of course that will take even longer.”

Shively says 40,000 early ballots were requested and about 60% of those requested have been returned.

Those who did request a ballot by mail can also use the drop box at the Election Commission office at 601 North 46th Street. That is available 24/7. It is located on the north side of the building and is the only drop box location in the City of Lincoln.

All ballots must be received prior to the close of polls at 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Shively says so far, it is as business as usual as they plan for the May 10th Primary however, they could use some help. He says, “We could probably still fill some fill a few locations we are having struggles with. Not very many but if someone is interested in becoming a poll worker, please get a hold of us.”

Shively adds a few poling locations did change due to redistricting and those impacted should have received notification by mail.

Anyone having any questions may call the Election Office at (402) 441-7311.
