Nebraska candidate for governor Charles Herbster continues to deny accusations that he groped eight women and the reports are politically motivated. He also implied during a news conference on Wednesday that this could have been orchestrated by Gov. Pete Ricketts.
On Wednesday, Herbster stated he had spoke with his legal team and he had plans to sue to protect his name. His legal team also delivered letters to several people, including the Nebraska Examiner who broke the story, asking them to preserve records about the allegations.
During a former Trump advisor Steve Bannon podcast this week, Herbster stated that he filed a lawsuit against State Senator Julie Slama who is one of the eight who made the accusations. His campaign told the Omaha World Herald on Thursday that no lawsuits had been filed.
Herbster stated he also said there was a meeting with Slama, former Governor Dave Heineman and a staffer. Heineman told the Nebraska Examiner Thursday that he did not attend a meeting.
