By Karla James Mar 9, 2022 | 4:54 PM

A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday. Snow will move into the Lincoln area this evening with the heaviest snow falling from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service reports the highest snowfall totals will be along the Nebraska/Kansas border. The peak snowfall rates could reach  1 inch per hour for brief periods. Gusty northeast winds of up to 20 miles per hour may cause patchy blowing and drifting snow.

This snow will impact the Thursday morning commute. There will be regional travel disruptions with impacts expected on I-80.  The NWS says cold temperatures may be hazardous for stranded travelers.
