A Lincoln Police officer on patrol around 11 p.m. Monday spotted a Buick near N 1st and Dawes with only one headlight. The officer followed the vehicle without lights and siren and witnessed erratic driving as if to avoid the officer.

The officer then found the Buick stalled on the Harris Overpass. The driver, 21 year old Alex Hernandez of Lincoln was looking over the overpass. Officers believe he may had tossed something over the edge so a search was conducted.

Officers located a backpack that contained 26 THC vape cartridges, a jar of lemon cake THC wax, and $68,000 in cash. A search of Hernandez also turned up another $1,600 in cash. Personal items of Hernandez were found in the backpack connecting it to him.

Hernandez was booked for possession of drugs with intent to deliver, possession of money while violating a drug statute, improper vehicle lighting, disobeying a traffic control device, and obstruction of a police officer.
