The Criminal Interdiction Task Force spotted a pickup with California license plates driving on I-80 and at mile marker 393 on Friday, February 18th. The vehicle had been following others too closely.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says the investigators became suspicious and called for a drug dog to conduct a search.
The search turned up 20 pounds of methamphetamine under the rear seat inside the pickup. Investigators then learned the drugs were to be delivered in Omaha. The methamphetamine had a street value of $450,000.
Jesus Sanchez-Meza, 25, of Chula Vista, California was booked for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.
