Lincoln Police were called to 400 block of Bridger Road on Tuesday, February 15th to investigate a stolen vehicle. The owner told police he had left his Dodge Avenger running to warm up around 7 a.m. and when he came back a few minutes later the vehicle was gone.
On Thursday, February 17th, police were called to check on a suspicious Dodge Avenger that was parked near 17th and Dakota Street around 4:15 a.m. Officers found 22 year old Baylee Claussen asleep in the driver’s seat.
Police way Claussen was lethargic and unresponsive when he woke up and was asked questions by police. That led to a search of the vehicle and a baggie containing methamphetamine was found.
Parts of the Dodge Avenger had been spray painted. Claussen was found to have spray paint on his fingers.
Claussen was taken to a hospital to be checked out. He was then booked for felony theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance and for criminal mischief.
