Lincoln Police were called to the 1800 block of Knox Street around 4:00 Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle struck at least four other vehicles in a parking lot. LPD says witnesses saw 25 year old Zane Knopp come out of his apartment and got into his Jeep Wrangler and sped away on Knox Street.
LPD says he returned and struck two vehicles in the apartment complex parking lot. LPD Captain Max Hubka says two citizens were holding the suspect down waiting for officers to arrive. “They apprehended the suspect and it was clear that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol, not fit to be driving.”
Hubka tells KLIN News 25-year old Zane Knopp had some minor injuries to his face. He was found to be in possession of 288.9 grams of marijuana, 491.6 grams of concentrated THC wax and paraphernalia consistent with drug sales. Officers also found about $1,900 in cash. After being treated at the hospital for some minor injuries, Knopp was transported to the Lancaster County jail.
Knopp was booked for 2nd offense DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a revoked license, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of money while violating a drug statute.
