Just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday, February 13th, Lincoln Police saw a GMC Sierra driving the wrong way down N 14th Street. LPD stopped the vehicle in the 100 block of Centennial Mall North and noticed the driver, 33 year old Arturo Raya appeared to be intoxicated.

Officers found two open bottles of beer in the vehicle and conducted a search. A 9mm handgun was found under the driver’s seat where Raya had been seated. Raya is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing weapons. Raya’s blood alcohol content tested at .203, over twice the legal limit.

While in jail, officers found six individually wrapped baggies containing suspected crack-cocaine on Raya.

Raya was booked for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, 3rd offense aggravated DUI, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of an open alcohol container, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and no operators license.

Additional charges are pending involving the suspected narcotics.
