Several Lincoln streets will have closures beginning Sunday, Oct. 18, as crews complete paving, utility and water main work, according to Lincoln Transportation and Utilities.

The intersection of Cornhusker Highway, Havelock Avenue and Superior Street will close for paving from 8 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19. A second overnight closure is scheduled from 8 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20.

Downtown, eastbound O Street between Ninth and 11th streets will close Monday for utility relocation. That closure is expected to continue through Monday, Oct. 26, while westbound lanes along the same stretch will remain closed for several more weeks. Northbound and southbound traffic will still be able to cross O Street at Ninth, 10th and 11th streets.

The two easternmost lanes of 10th Street between N and P streets will also close Monday for utility work. Eastbound and westbound traffic will remain open through the intersections at N and P streets.

On Superior Street, the eastbound outside lane between Bair Avenue and 35th Street will close Monday for utility work. Completion is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 25.

Water main replacement will bring additional lane closures beginning Wednesday, Oct. 21. The southbound outside lane of 27th Street will close between Old Cheney Road and Jameson North, and the westbound outside lane of Old Cheney Road will close between 27th and 25th streets. LTU did not announce a completion date for that work.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and exercise caution near work zones. Project dates may change because of weather or unforeseen circumstances.
