Traffic is being slowed or rerouted near 84th and O streets after a semi-tractor trailer struck several light poles and traffic signals Friday morning. Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to a reported hit-and-run near South 84th and Hazelwood around 9:30.
“While enroute they were updated that a northbound semi-tractor trailer had struck several light poles and signals and had come to rest west of the
intersection of 84th and O streets,” LPD Captain Duane Winkler tells KLIN News.
“The driver of the semi truck had apparently had a medical emergency and had struck another vehicle before coming to a halt on the north curb of O street.” Winkler says the extent of injuries is unknown, but none are believed to be life-threatening.
Traffic restrictions are expected to remain in place for several hours while vehicles are removed and the investigation is completed. Anyone with information, photos, or audio or video recordings is asked to contact Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000, Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600, or visit lincolncrimestoppers.com.
