A man called Lincoln Police at 10:30 p.m. Saturday to report his 9mm handgun had been stolen from his home after allowing 36 year old Jason Harden to stay with him in the 1400 block of S 17th Street.
At 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were sent to Antelope Valley Parkway and O Street after witnesses saw Harden firing a gun in the area as he walked east on O Street. Officers arrived and found Hardin holding a gun.
Harden ignored the officer’s orders to stop walking. He eventually turned and aggressively charged at them. At that time he was not holding the gun. A taser was used to help take Harden into custody. The stolen handgun was found close to where Harden had turned and charged at officers. Two fired casings were also located at Antelope Valley Parkway and O Street.
Harden is a convicted felon in California and prohibited from having a weapon. Harden was booked for unlawful discharge of a firearm, use of a firearm to commit a felony, possession of a stolen firearm, theft by unlawful taking, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
