Several downtown Lincoln streets will temporarily close Friday, October 2, for the University of Nebraska–Lincoln homecoming parade and a UNL basketball event.
Lincoln Transportation and Utilities says the closures will also require detours on six StarTran bus routes.
Homecoming Parade Closures: 4 to 7 p.m.
The following street segments will close for the UNL homecoming parade:
- 13th Street: Between Q and R streets.
- 14th Street: Between Vine Street and Avery Avenue.
- 14th Street: Between Q and R streets.
- 16th Street: Between R and Vine streets.
- R Street: Between 13th and 16th streets.
- Vine Street: Between 14th and 16th streets.
Basketball Event Closure: 5 to 10 p.m.
Canopy Street between Q and R streets will close for a UNL basketball event.
StarTran Detours
Six StarTran routes will be detoured during the events:
- Route 22: NIC City.
- Route 24: Holdrege.
- Route 25: Vine.
- Route 27: North 27th.
- Route 42: Bethany.
- Route 49: University Place.

LTU encourages travelers to use alternate routes and exercise caution near the closures. Closure schedules are subject to change because of weather or unforeseen circumstances.
