Power has been restored after a substation-level outage affected about 2,800 Lincoln Electric System customers late Monday morning. Kelley Porter, LES Manager of Communications and Public Affairs, told KLIN News the outage occurred shortly before 11 a.m. Monday.
The affected area extended roughly from Highway 77 east to South 40th Street and from Old Cheney Road south to Rokeby Road.
Porter said LES dispatched crews to the area and restored power at 11:23 a.m. “We’re still trying to determine the cause of the outage,” Porter said.
LES had not identified the cause as of late Monday morning.
Porter also reminded motorists that power outages can affect traffic signals. If a signal is out, drivers should treat the intersection as a four-way stop.
“Safety is always first,” Porter said, adding that LES hopes to determine the cause of the outage shortly.
