Omaha has been selected as one of three U.S. host cities for the 2027 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Cup. FIVB President Fabio Azevedo announced Thursday that Omaha’s CHI Health Center, home of the Omaha Supernovas, will join venues in Anaheim, California, and Orlando, Florida, as U.S. host sites for the 32-nation tournament.
Omaha and Orlando will host pool play and round-of-16 matches, while Anaheim will host the quarterfinals, semifinals and championship match. Omaha Supernovas Co-Owner Kirk Thompson says the selection recognizes the city’s passion for volleyball.
“We can’t wait to welcome the world’s best players to CHI Health Center, the home of the Supernovas.” The tournament runs August 20th through September 5th, 2027. Thompson says Omaha’s volleyball fans will help bring the energy of Supernovas matches to the international stage.
The event will also serve as an Olympic qualifier, with three national teams not already qualified for the 2028 Los Angeles Games earning Olympic berths. For more details click here .
