A 27-year-old woman has died after being critically injured in a camper fire in southwest Lincoln. LPD and and Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded just before 11:00 Wednesday morning to a camper fire at 2229 South 8th Street.
LFR says a bystander went inside the camper to rescue the woman. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment. Police say the woman died from her injuries Wednesday evening. Her identity is being withheld while family members are notified. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
The investigation is being led by the Lincoln Police Department Criminal Investigations Unit and an LFR fire inspector. Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
